| Methane
gas is a commodity vented or flared from Pennsylvania's landfills. It
results in a valuable fuel for use in electric power generation. Across
the state, Cleveland Brothers has successfully taken part in the
design, installation and operation of several landfill-gas-to-energy
plants. These plants add incremental capacity to the electric grid and
decrease the need for new utility generating capacity such as coal and
natural gas fueled power plants. Recently the 3.2 MW generating station at Frey Farms
Landfill, Manor Township Lancaster, County, PA won Project of the Year
from The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency's LMOP, Landfill Methane
Outreach Program. The Frey Farms sight was one of four sites across the
U.S. to receive this award. Our landfill gas specialist Kurt Hertzler
led the project for Cleveland Brothers by overseeing design,
specification, installation and start-up of the Caterpillar landfill
gas engines and associated support equipment, such as the engine
enclosures, switchgear, transformers, and heat recovery boilers. The
plant includes two large landfill methane fueled 20-cylinder engines.
Each generate 1.6 MW of electrical energy and at the same time provide
Turkey Hill Dairy with process steam generated from the engine exhaust
heat. Cleveland Brothers LFG to Energy project experience:

- In Process, Greater Lebanon Refuse Auth, PA, (2) G3520C's at 1600 kW ea.
With
our wealth of experience in specifying and commissioning these
projects, Cleveland Brothers is well positioned to help its clients to
enhance value in their energy based projects which can not only provide
an alternative energy resource but also provide an environmentally
sound installation.
